When planning for a tradeshow it is always best to prepare far in advance. This will give you the opportunity to make good sound decisions about your investment in promoting your company or agency.
Target Audience – Making your selection(s) of the many thousands of products on the market can be narrowed down by determining your target audience. Keep in mind that items that usually end up in the trash are not items that give a lasting impression. Select items that will remain in the customer’s hands at least 3 – 6 months.
Quantity – How many quality prospects do you estimate that you will contact at this event and possible future events? (Remember, the more you order, the less expensive the items are.)

Tablecloth or Runner – Your tablecloth is the next thing prospective customers see after your smiling faces. They are looking for giveaways and candy, you know. Most tradeshows provide a white tablecloth, but that says nothing about what a great company you are and gets so dirty. This is an opportunity to display your company colors and logo to give people product recognition.
Brochures, Presentation Folders, or Flyers – Here is where you can put all the details about your products and services. Remember, it is very important to be consistent with all your promotional items.

Drawing for Prizes – Always provide a way to obtain perspective customer’s contact information. The best way to do this is to have a drawing for a prize. Provide a place for people to drop in their business cards or fill out a form. Always ask for an email address and if you haven’t already, start publishing an email newsletter periodically.
